Wilderness will be wild

It had been raining and the sky was oily
In the horizon sea and clouds melted into each other
Words were like reflections
rippling and surging over the foam of the waves
there was a great emptiness and space expanded
we were blinded by drunk winds
and the folly of believing in solitude.

Hills disguised as planes
Wilderness pretended to be tame
We thought we dominated fire
But were only the masters of blame.

It had been raining and the sky was gilded
On the ground flourished a carpet of grey and silver
Tears were like ashes
Flitting and flashing over the snakes in the breeze
Giants shrunk into a dwindling sleep
we were intoxicated by dreams of might
and foolish enough to trust them.

Moons swelled and waned
Wilderness pretended to be tame
We broke the shell we emerged from
And tarnished our skins in vain.
